At Geostick, sustainability is of paramount importance. So, our vision is not for nothing: we give substance to sustainability. We are committed to the development of employees, valuable partnerships and delivering sustainable solutions for our customers and chain partners and reducing our environmental impact. As an organization we are certified with: ISO 9001, 14001, 22000 and a self-declaration for ISO 26000 transparency level 3. In addition, we have an EcoVadis silver listing, which means that we are among the top 25% best companies in the field of environment, employment, fair business and purchasing.  

Our locations are equipped with an impressive amount of 3,214 solar panels – good for generating 932,000 kWh per year of green electricity which is equivalent to the energy supply of 390 households per year. With this we contribute to a CO2 reduction of 422,000 kg, equivalent to a CO2 absorption of 19,090 trees.  

The working climate at all office and production locations is also considered to guarantee a comfortable workplace for our employees. For example, various cooling units have been installed in the production location of our site in Heumen. Our so-called Digital Printing Center in Uithoorn is built according to the highest sustainability requirements and awarded with a BREAAM Outstanding certificate.  

We purchase different types of sustainable materials (FSC-certified, compostable, recyclable, renewable or biodegradable) and are constantly optimizing our processes so that sustainability is safeguarded throughout the chain. Together with our suppliers and customers, we are constantly looking for sustainable labeling solutions and making the necessary investments to stimulate these innovations. Cooperation with chain partners, but also with colleagues, is crucial to achieve the sustainability objectives of each person involved with the desired impact. 

VAT discounting 

The Geostick Aqualine labels for PE and PP packaging are the solution for hot and cold washable. The labeling line can be recycled and approved by the KIDV (Knowledge Institute for Sustainable Packaging). This approval makes the labels eligible for a lower rate in the waste management fee, the so-called tariff discount for packaging. Packaging is eligible for this if it is easy to sort out and has a positive market value after recycling.

In the context of sustainable entrepreneurship, we started a recycling program for backing paper in 2020. The backing paper, also called the carrier, liner or backing of labels, only serves as a means of transport and is discarded after applying the labels. Collecting this backing paper for reuse reduces CO2 emissions, reduces the use of raw materials and saves on waste disposal costs. Our partners for the recycling program are Cycle4green and Lenzing.
